· Background ·

Storied Bespoke Furniture is the home of Jeff Maker, designer and producer of fine furniture located in the heart of the National Forest in the Midlands, UK.

Storied takes its name from the idea that the furniture and objects with which we surround ourselves, both shape and take on the stories of our lives, carrying the marks of the maker and user in equal measure.

My home and workshop lie in the heart of the National Forest on the border of Northwest Leicestershire and South Derbyshire. From here I design and produce original, functional furniture to suit private homes and commercial environments.

· Craftsmanship ·

Having studied at the renowned furniture school of Waters and Acland in the Lake District, I am trained in traditional techniques of hand crafted heirloom furniture. I combine these traditional skills with modern fabrication techniques to achieve the best result for each project.

· Design ·

One of my favourite parts of the process. I relish the opportunity to work directly with my clients to develop a design to suit their needs. Working collaboratively with you to create a truly bespoke piece that meets your practical needs as well as giving you an object which will become part of your story.

· Sustainability ·

I source materials from local, sustainably managed British woodland as much as possible. Whilst reducing the carbon footprint of what I make this also connects the pieces to the land in which they are produced, helping to promote and contribute to the growth of this incredible part of the world.
